Earlier this week, Etihad Airways completed its maiden flight from Abu Dhabi to Kuala Lumpur, the first of a six-times-a-week, non-stop service between the two capitals.
The airline’s CEO, James Hogan said, “This new service is set to become one of Etihad’s most popular with Kuala Lumpur an established and highly popular business and leisure travel destination for UAE and Middle Eastern nationals.”
Kuala Lumpur is Etihad Airways’ fourth destination in the Asia Pacific region after Bangkok, Jakarta and Manila. The city joins other recently launched routes, including Tehran, New York, Casablanca and Dhaka on Etihad’s network.
Etihad operates one of its three-zone Airbus A340-300 aircraft between Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur. The aircraft is configured to carry 10 passengers in the Diamond Zone, 30 in Pearl and 225 Coral.
The service operates every day of the week except Saturday. Outbound, EY405 departs Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) at 02:40 hours, arriving at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) at 14:15 hours. The return flight EY406 departs Kuala Lumpur at 15:00 hours, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 18:15 hours.
