South Australia Gourmet Events in 2007

South Australia is gearing up for a flavoursome year of gourmet events in 2007, including the biennial Tasting Australia, which is aimed at promoting the State’s best food and wine to the world.

More than 100 food and wine writers from around the globe and Australia will converge in South Australia for eight days of culinary splendour from October 13 to 20 October for the 2007 Tasting Australia event.

South Australian Tourism Commission Chief Executive Mr. Bill Spurr said the 2007 Tasting Australia festival is set to be bigger and better than ever before, and will showcase a fabulous selection of South Australian food, wine, beer and hospitality to visitors.

“Tasting Australia, held every two years, is one of the most significant events of its kind in the culinary calendar. Some of the most influential national and international food and wine media can taste for themselves exactly what makes our State so special,” Mr Spurr said.

Festivals such as the Adelaide Food Summit, Feast for the Senses, and the James Squire Food, Beer and Wine Writers’ forum are also part of the program of events during Tasting Australia in 2007.

South Australia also hosts a number of regional food and wine events throughout the year, including the Barossa Vintage Festival, the Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend, the McLaren Vale Sea and Vines, the Ceduna Oysterfest and more.
